Body image issues : A take on movie "Book of life"

These are the characters from the movie "book of life ".

The girl has a stick instead of a stomach, huge chest in comparison and eyes that cover >20% of her face.

Is she suffering from anorexia ?

The guys have a square face, huge chest (around 5 times the girl's) and stick legs.

I loved the movie. The message to write your own  future and follow your passion was embedded nicely.  I could see that youngsters will subconsciously remember the message. I was reminded to be true to myself , embrace whatever unique talent was showered upon me.

I loved the movie enough to pinpoint that the same kids suffer body image issues due to these characters. Their subconscious perceives it as the new norm, with pop stars already pushing them in the wrong direction.

Next time one of you designs characters for an animated movie , remember this image.

Anorexia is a SERIOUS disorder, let's not contribute to it

He was a guy. I love how the writers created the confusion. They might be trying to imply  that some things matter more than gender-- they are the identity, its the purity at heart, the dreams, the passion to help. 

They portrait that belongingness is something even the cruellest of humans want :)
